Slovenia Guide (Recommendations by Pia and Liam)

Below is a handful of recommendations for you to experience. Depending on your time availability and budget, there's something for everyone! #beentheredonethat

LJUBLJANA

Small, green, affordable and packed with great food, architecture and history - Ljubljana has it all! We highly recommend you to stay a couple of days in Ljubljana, and enjoy the amenities it has to offer or simply order a glass of vino, sit back and relax in one of many outdoor cafes by the river. See [top Ljubljana attractions here](https://www.visitljubljana.com/en/visitors/explore/things-to-do/sightseeing/article/10-ljubljanas-top-attractions).

Ljubljana is also a great starting point for various day trips, too (such as Postojna Caves and Lake Bled, see below).

POSTOJNA CAVE PARK (45 min drive from Ljubljana)

The caves are so was and deep there's a train bringing you in, followed by some cave walking, too. A very popular tourist attraction and without a doubt worth experiencing! Booking your date and time slot is highly recommended otherwise you may get stuck in a queue for hours! If you are stuck for time, we recommend doing just the caves part, it's amazing enough! If you're inclined to explore even more, then perhaps combining the cave experience with other attractions in the park makes sense! See the official website for more info.

LAKE BLED (45 min drive from Ljubljana)

Probably the most popular place for a day-trip. A lovely lake among with the Alpine peaks backdrop. Feel like spending the day in nature? Bled and it's neighbouring Lake Bohinj are ideal for folks who'd like to spend some time actively in nature or simply enjoying the world-famous Bled cream cake. Easy to get to from Ljubljana, too.
